Night drive car sounds
Inside a car on an empty highway at night. Road hum and a low engine, no radio, no indicator.
A 2-minute recording played in random overlapping segments, the way the app plays it, so you won't hear a loop. Start with your volume low. Keep this tab open.
About this sound
Inside a car driving at night: the hum of tires on the road and a low, even engine, with no radio, no indicator and no talking. It was recorded inside a compact SUV.
We joined two parts of the original to leave out a few bumps and a rustle at the end, filtered the rumble below 25 Hz, balanced the channels, softened remaining knocks and repaired small clicks. The app uses about 6 minutes of it, played as random stretches of about half a minute joined with 4-second crossfades and a very slight drift in volume. The player on this page uses a 2-minute excerpt.
How people use it
Many people fell asleep in the back seat as children, and road hum is steady and low like brown noise. It covers traffic and low household sounds well.
The app's Night Drive mix adds rain on the car for a drive through the rain. Keep the volume low and let a slow-fading timer end it.
